Bodywork was sculpted on the bike, molds pulled and final fiberglass pieces pulled from those molds. To get the fairing as low profile as possible we redesigned the cockpit ... CNC 6061 billet triple clamps and all new 7/8 controls. To minimize the switches we printed housing for the micro switches and wired in a Motogadget M-Unit. Ground up restoration 1968 T100c Triumph Tiger. Under the expert guidance of my very gifted friend DK of DKdesignsf (he's also doing the paint) I'm doing a full ground up 'modern' restoration of this old girl. The bike was stripped, blasted, refined, then painted. Motor has had all the cases vapour blasted, then reworked so every seam is perfect. Brand new internals, rods, pistons, seals, bearings etc Crank is being balanced. Seat and rear fender have been bobbed to give that sled look. Pretty much everything is ready to go back together in time for some summer ice-cream runs. Rebuilt wheels with new Borrani (style) rims, stainless spokes and nipples, powder coated hubs. American selvedge cone denim from the (now closed) White Oak mill. Split leg so you can jump on a bike for a test ride. Soft lined 'phone' pocket, button hole headphone access, big side pockets, stainless hardware and broad shoulder straps for "all day comfort". Designed and fabricated in San Francisco USA. I could never find the right 'cover-all' for the shop. Over-alls are too hot. Most aprons are designed more for the BBQ than the machine room ... so I designed one. Solid 12oz American made cone denim, in either contrast or plain stitching. 2 options for highlight colors on the flannel lined chest pocket. The apron is high on the chest, wraps around the side and has a split leg opening with knee straps for perfect for protection of your fancy Distinguished Gentleman's togs. I moved the main pockets to the side - I find center pockets are just a bondo dust collector and you end up with metal pieces in there which poke through and scratch that expensive paintwork. The stainless steel hardware is removable for easier washing ... although I don't know why you'd wash the grime off - builds character. Broad crossover 'synthetic' cotton shoulder straps (100% cotton stretches and Nylon melts). I can do leather straps too if you're interested. Constructed by Alex at Nettle Studio in San Francisco. It can be installed with no modifications to the stock Thruxton frame. The seat and fairing were created for the 2009 - 2016 Triumph modern classics. Inspired by the 60's era Isle of Mann TT bikes, I wanted the bike to be long and low. The final bits are made from fiberglass cloth, and there's a little room to reshape the pieces to make them unique. Although not in final production yet I'd be more than happy to chat to anyone who's interested in building out a similar custom. The seat unit and fairing come with all the mounting hardware for the Thruxton plus a seat pan and a cast foam seat. The Sprocket Cover is 3D printed in 2 pieces. Surprisingly the texture of the 3D print matches the cast black motor finish, and so far it's held up quite well - we'll be doing a run of these in 6 series aluminium on M-O the CNC as soon as it's up and running if anyone is interested. The replacement heal guard is simply a piece of Kydex thermal plastic that I cut and shaped. We designed and 3D printed the housings ... once we have M-O, the new CNC, up and running we'll make some proper aluminium ones Full Disclosure! I'm not an auto electrician, so it took a fair amount of head scratching before I figured out what bits and bobs I could take off and which wires to replace so they'd work with the EFI Thruxton. Quite happy with the results - right hand single button is the Start / Stop combo. The left hand set are Left / Right turn signals, a quick stab makes them blink 12 times and then auto off, and a longer press keeps them on, lick to cancel (bottom row). The CNC 6061 billet triple clamps redesigned to have a more classic look and all new 7/8 controls. To minimize the switches we printed housing for the micro switches and wired in a Motogadget M-Unit. Some confusion initially as to the year as it came with no paperwork - but it’s a relatively rare transitional scrambler - between 67-68 Ducati changed from narrow to wide case motors but during that time didn’t update all the components. Installed new 12v Vape electrics, I had to machine an alternate stator plate as the ‘wide case’ 4 bolt pattern is actually the 3 bolt narrow case config on this bike. New LED headlight and tail light, added a front brake switch and hid a horn in the headlight bucket.
